Gravity Offload System will be used to simulate satellites and space craft in orbit

CHANTILLY, VA., January 21, 2025 — ��ý (NYSE: AMTM) has been selected to provide the UK with specialist equipment to simulate conditions in space to improve zero-gravity operations and enhance mission safety.

The company’s robotics specialists will design an in-space servicing, assembly and manufacturing gravity offload system for use by satellite and space craft manufacturers and operators.

The Satellite Applications Catapult (SAC) awarded the contract to ��ý after competitive bidding. The system is due to be delivered by March 2025.

“We will use our strengths in robotics and technology to create a new facility that will help our client advance its vision to create a robust and interconnected UK Space Ecosystem fostering innovation, growth, collaboration and technological advancement,” said Andy White, Senior Vice President of ��ý Energy & Environment International.

The gravity offload system is a gantry that minimizes the effect of gravity on a suspended object to simulate the conditions encountered in-orbit. The system will be used to develop control systems and hardware for docking and capture systems to ensure effective operation in orbit and reduce the risk of mission failures.

Integrating commercial off-the-shelf hardware with an innovative design to deliver a robust and comprehensive solution, ��ý will design, qualify and install the system on the client’s site. Cost-efficient modular design and agile methodologies will be used to deliver the project.

The new system is part of a major investment in the Satellite Applications Catapult facility at the Westcott Space Cluster in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, where companies can verify, validate and demonstrate a range of in-orbit operations including manufacturing, servicing, inspection, repair and assembly. Funding for the upgrade project was provided by UK Space Agency.

��ý selected to evaluate nuclear new build options for the Netherlands

CHANTILLY, VA., November 20, 2024 — The Kingdom of the Netherlands has selected ��ý (NYSE: AMTM) to evaluate options for expanding the country’s nuclear power capacity. As part of its strategy to reduce carbon emissions and strengthen energy security, the Dutch government has announced preliminary plans to build two new pressurized water reactors by 2035 with a total capacity of up to 1650 Mwe, enough to meet up to 13% of the country’s electricity needs.

“This important contract advances our growth strategy by taking us into a new country and plays to many of our strengths,” said Andy White, Senior Vice President of ��ý Energy & Environment International. “We are technology agnostic, so we are able to apply our experience of nuclear new build programs in the UK, Poland and the United Arab Emirates, along with our extensive technical knowledge to assess the compatibility of reactor designs within the specific Dutch context.”

The Dutch government’s Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth has received technical feasibility studies and market consultations from three potential reactor vendors.

The ministry has appointed ��ý to carry out a full review of this information, to provide independent advice on the technical and market viability of constructing two nuclear power plants, and to deliver advisory input to enable an informed decision on design and financing.

The feasibility study review will be led by ��ý’s subject matter experts, supported by CMS Lawyers, PA Consulting and ENCO nuclear consultants.

Currently, the Netherlands has the lowest generating capacity of any nuclear-powered nation in Europe. Its sole 482-MWe pressurized water reactor at Borssele, a coastal town in Zeeland, was built by Siemens and has been operational since 1973.

��ý Selected for Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant Decommissioning Contract

CHANTILLY, VA., October 30, 2024 — ��ý (NYSE: AMTM) has been selected as consultant for the first-of-a-kind dismantling of steam drum separators in Units 1 and 2 of Ignalina Nuclear Power Plant (INPP) in Lithuania, an important step in decommissioning what was once the country’s largest generator of electricity.

The seven-year contract, estimated by INPP to be worth €5.5 million in revenue and to be implemented under International Federation of Consulting Engineers (FIDIC) Yellow Book Conditions, will be administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and funded by European Commission grants.

��ý will provide consultancy services to support the INPP’s Project Management Unit (PMU) and carry out the duties of FIDIC Engineer for the dismantling contract.

“We will deploy our extensive nuclear decommissioning and waste management experience from the UK, France, Czechia and Slovakia to this ground-breaking project,” said Andy White, who leads ��ý Energy & Environment International.

��ý will help INPP to manage the removal of the Steam Drum Separators – large drums installed over the graphite core to divert steam to the turbines. The PMU will oversee the design and safety justification for dismantling and fragmentation of the drums and associated equipment, which are located in the plant’s radiologically contaminated primary circuit. The ��ý team will also be available to support further stages of decommissioning at INPP.

“The FIDIC service provider, ��ý, is a significant contributor to the dismantling of the steam drum separators. Their large international experience both as a FIDIC engineer and while working in various similar nuclear power projects will be a contributory factor to the success of the project’s joint implementation,” said Linas Baužys, Director General of INPP.

INPP’s two RBMK-1500 reactors generated up to 70% of Lithuania’s electricity before the plant was shut down in 2009. ��ý’s heritage firms began working there more than 20 years ago, helping to deliver a New Interim Spent Fuel Storage Facility and other facilities required for decommissioning.

��ý Awarded $56 Million Contract to Support Biological Threat Reduction Missions in Africa

CHANTILLY, VA; December 4, 2023 – ��ý has been awarded a Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) contract valued at $56.1 million to support the U.S. Department of Defense’s Biological Threat Reduction Program (BTRP) mission. Expanding on ��ý’s international BTRP work on the African continent, the company will deliver expertise to secure and consolidate pathogens; enhance biosafety and biosecurity standards; and sustain and maintain partner countries’ abilities to detect, diagnose, surveil, and report emerging and re-emerging diseases of international security concern.

Under this contract ��ý will work with the African Union’s Pan African Veterinary Vaccine Center in Bishoftu, Ethiopia to enhance biosafety and biosecurity of the facility. ��ý’s work will include construction and engineering of a new laboratory and training facility; equipment procurement, delivery, and installation; operations and maintenance support, and biosafety. ��ý will also deliver biosecurity training to ensure the center is sufficiently equipped to protect biological assets and implement a bio risk management program.

The award has a three-year base period of performance with several options which can extend the period of performance to five years. Work will be performed within and outside the continental United States with specific focus on BTRP partners in Ethiopia and the African Union.

��ý will participate in task order opportunities for the three task areas under this IDIQ – Direct Care, Facilities Management, and Wrap Around Services. Under this contract, ��ý will provide care for refugees in a safe, healthy environment with consideration of the unique nature of each person’s situation while incorporating welfare principles in the best interest of the refugee.
