��ý Selected to Design New Facility for UK Space Industry

Gravity Offload System will be used to simulate satellites and space craft in orbit

CHANTILLY, VA., January 21, 2025 — ��ý (NYSE: AMTM) has been selected to provide the UK with specialist equipment to simulate conditions in space to improve zero-gravity operations and enhance mission safety.

The company’s robotics specialists will design an in-space servicing, assembly and manufacturing gravity offload system for use by satellite and space craft manufacturers and operators.

The Satellite Applications Catapult (SAC) awarded the contract to ��ý after competitive bidding. The system is due to be delivered by March 2025.

“We will use our strengths in robotics and technology to create a new facility that will help our client advance its vision to create a robust and interconnected UK Space Ecosystem fostering innovation, growth, collaboration and technological advancement,” said Andy White, Senior Vice President of ��ý Energy & Environment International.

The gravity offload system is a gantry that minimizes the effect of gravity on a suspended object to simulate the conditions encountered in-orbit. The system will be used to develop control systems and hardware for docking and capture systems to ensure effective operation in orbit and reduce the risk of mission failures.

Integrating commercial off-the-shelf hardware with an innovative design to deliver a robust and comprehensive solution, ��ý will design, qualify and install the system on the client’s site. Cost-efficient modular design and agile methodologies will be used to deliver the project.

The new system is part of a major investment in the Satellite Applications Catapult facility at the Westcott Space Cluster in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, where companies can verify, validate and demonstrate a range of in-orbit operations including manufacturing, servicing, inspection, repair and assembly. Funding for the upgrade project was provided by UK Space Agency.

��ý Selected to Evaluate Small Modular Reactor Option in Norway

CHANTILLY, Va., December 11, 2024 — ��ý (NYSE: AMTM) and Multiconsult Norge AS were selected by Halden Kjernekraft AS to evaluate the potential for building a small modular reactor (SMR) in Norway, helping Halden municipality to decide whether nuclear power can meet advanced energy needs.

The two companies will carry out an assessment of potential suppliers of equipment and services within Norway and from abroad, as well as reporting on technical standards, environmental impact and other key aspects of any construction program.

Halden Kjernekraft was set up by Norsk Kjernekraft, Østfold Energi and the municipality of Halden, a town in southeast Norway close to the Swedish border, to investigate the construction of a nuclear power plant using SMR technology.

CHANTILLY, VA, December 4, 2024 – ��ý (NYSE:AMTM) announced today that West Valley Cleanup Alliance, LLC (WVCA), a BWXT Technical Services Group-led joint venture that includes Jacobs Technology, an ��ý company, and Geosyntec Consultants, Inc, has been awarded the West Valley Project Phase 1B Deactivation & Demolition contract. ��ý will bring advanced environmental capabilities to safely clean up the West Valley Demonstration Project (WVDP) in western New York state.

The scope of this contract includes disposal of low level, radioactive and transuranic waste; soil remediation; decontamination and decommissioning of underground high level waste tanks, facilities and any material used in connection with the project; and eventual transport of solidified waste to a federal repository for permanent disposal.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) single-award IDIQ contract has a maximum value of up to $3 billion over a 10-year ordering period. Performance of task orders issued before the end of the contract ordering period shall not exceed five years beyond the end of the contract ordering period.

The West Valley Demonstration Project is an approximate 150-acre area located 35 miles south of Buffalo, New York. The site is owned by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and is home to the only commercial spent nuclear fuel reprocessing facility to operate in the United States. ��ý and its legacy companies have supported the DOE’s office of Environmental Management WVDP cleanup program since 1982.

��ý KSC Team starts Artemis II Stacking

CHANTILLY, Va., November 22, 2024 – The ��ý team at Kennedy Space Center in Florida began assembling the Artemis II flight hardware this week, stacking the left and right aft booster rocket segment on the mobile launcher in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB).

��ý, which supports Program under the Consolidated Operations, Management, Engineering, and Test (COMET) contract, is responsible for the final processing, assembly, test, and launch of Artemis flight hardware at Kennedy.

On Monday, November 18, the team transported the left aft assembly, or bottom portion of the five-segment booster, from the Rotation, Processing and Surge Facility to the transfer aisle of the VAB. On Tuesday night, using a 325-ton overhead crane, the team lifted the segment up 200 feet, maneuvered it through an opening into High Bay 3, and lowered it onto the zero deck of the mobile launcher. The same operations followed on Thursday with the right aft booster segment.

��ý technicians and engineers will continue transporting, lifting, and integrating booster segments until both the right and left boosters are complete.

The booster stacking follows several months of work at Launch Pad 39B, where the mobile launcher and pad systems underwent repair of damage caused by the Artemis I launch, as well as modifications required for the. addition of a human crew for the Artemis II launch. These upgrades include the installation of a new emergency egress system, which will provide a crew and personnel escape from the Artemis rocket if necessary. The mobile launcher, which stands 380 feet tall, contains the connection lines, known as umbilicals, and ground support equipment that will provide the rocket and spacecraft with the power, communications, fuel, and coolant necessary for launch.

The Artemis II test flight will be NASA’s first mission with a crew under the Artemis campaign. It will send NASA astronauts Victor Glover, Christina Koch, Reid Wiseman, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen on a 10-day journey around the Moon and back.

CHANTILLY, VA., November 20, 2024 — The Kingdom of the Netherlands has selected ��ý (NYSE: AMTM) to evaluate options for expanding the country’s nuclear power capacity. As part of its strategy to reduce carbon emissions and strengthen energy security, the Dutch government has announced preliminary plans to build two new pressurized water reactors by 2035 with a total capacity of up to 1650 Mwe, enough to meet up to 13% of the country’s electricity needs.

“This important contract advances our growth strategy by taking us into a new country and plays to many of our strengths,” said Andy White, Senior Vice President of ��ý Energy & Environment International. “We are technology agnostic, so we are able to apply our experience of nuclear new build programs in the UK, Poland and the United Arab Emirates, along with our extensive technical knowledge to assess the compatibility of reactor designs within the specific Dutch context.”

The Dutch government’s Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth has received technical feasibility studies and market consultations from three potential reactor vendors.

The ministry has appointed ��ý to carry out a full review of this information, to provide independent advice on the technical and market viability of constructing two nuclear power plants, and to deliver advisory input to enable an informed decision on design and financing.

The feasibility study review will be led by ��ý’s subject matter experts, supported by CMS Lawyers, PA Consulting and ENCO nuclear consultants.

Currently, the Netherlands has the lowest generating capacity of any nuclear-powered nation in Europe. Its sole 482-MWe pressurized water reactor at Borssele, a coastal town in Zeeland, was built by Siemens and has been operational since 1973.

Fermilab, a 6,800-acre site located in Batavia, Illinois, collaborates with more than 50 countries around the world to unlock the mysteries of how our universe was born, how it has evolved over time, and the fundamental rules that govern it. The primary mission of the laboratory is particle physics experiments using world-leading accelerators—studying the smallest building blocks of matter using some of the largest and most complex machines in the world.

The contract, which has a maximum value of $5 billion for an initial five-year base period and extensions that shall not exceed 20 years, includes ��ý as an integrated subcontractor. Fermi Forward Discovery Group, LLC will assume operations January 1, 2025 after a ninety-day transition period that began October 1, 2024.
