Submarine On Board Training (SOBT) & Sailor 2025 Shipboard Training: Addressing Today’s Personnel Challenges at Navy Training Centers

°®Éñ´«Ã½ works with the U.S. Navy to develop flexible education programs as part of the Submarine On Board Training (SOBT) and Sailor 2025 Initiatives. As part of the U.S. Navy’s efforts to increase readiness and improve training, we’re developing interactive courseware (ICW), web / video-based delivery, and 3-D simulation that can be delivered both in-person and remotely through programs such as SONAR and Officer of the Deck. We’ve developed a rapid deployment / targeted / multi-language / internet-based training approach that can create critical topics.

Our instructors have developed classroom and field instruction for key topics, including:

  • Operations and Maintenance of various systems on the VIRGINIA-class submarine
  • Safe and proper handling of ammunition and explosives
  • Operating and assessing data from electronic warfare equipment aboard surface vessels
  • Proper and acceptable conduct in foreign ports of call
  • Undersea surveillance analysis and watchstanding
  • Naval intelligence

Project Highlights:

  • Designed and developed more than 1,000 hours of Interactive Multimedia Instruction for the US Navy
  • Converted more than 950 hours of factory training developed by various commercial vendors into a blended learning curriculum
  • Assigned responsibility for continuous oversight and revision of 25 courses of instruction for the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Force
  • Designed and produced more than 100 video training shorts for use by the fleet through the Navy’s Learning Management System
  • Designed and developed familiarization and cultural awareness for 88 foreign countries to prepare DoD personnel for a transition to those locations
  • Supported continuous support of the SOBT initiative since 2007
  • Supported curricula development for the Information Warfare Training Command (IWTC) since 2005
